A little preparation makes the first weeks of term smoother. Use this checklist.
Devices
- Check batteries, chargers and screens. Replace or repair what is broken.
- Install updates while you have a good connection.
- Back up projects and important files.
Safety
- Review passwords and switch on two-step verification for key accounts.
- Agree rules for screen time and where devices are used.
- Talk about AI use: when it is allowed and how to say you used it.
Routines
- Set a regular slot for practice, even twenty minutes, three times a week.
- Keep a place where devices are charged overnight, away from bedrooms.
Learning goals
- Choose one skill for the term, such as a first Scratch game or a personal web page.
- Decide how to show it, for example a short demo for family.
For teachers
- Test the projector, laptops and internet before the first lesson.
- Prepare an offline plan in case of a power or data failure.
- Share a short guide with parents about what pupils will do.
