Technology news moves fast, so December is a good time to ask what really mattered. These are five lessons from 2025 that we think will last.

1. AI is becoming ordinary

Reasoning models, voice assistants and agents moved from announcements to everyday tools. The question has shifted from "what is AI?" to "how should we use it well?"

2. Cheaper and open models widen access

Efficient and open models, including DeepSeek's release in January, showed that capable AI is not limited to a few firms. More people can build with it.

3. Fundamentals are more valuable, not less

As AI writes more code, people who understand logic, testing and design are the ones who can direct it and spot mistakes.

4. Safety is a habit

Updates, strong passwords, two-step verification and careful sharing of children's pictures prevent most problems.

5. Access decides who benefits

Devices, data and training are still uneven. Free, light, offline-friendly learning matters.

Looking ahead

In 2026 we will keep doing what works: weekly hands-on classes, teacher training, free lessons and a close eye on new tools that really help. Thank you to every pupil, parent, teacher and school that learned alongside us this year.
